Xamarin Problems And Solutions

Hi fellas,
Here is a post regarding Xamarin issues, being a Xamarin(Xamarin.Forms) mobile app developer i have faced a lot of troubles in Xamarin and also I am able to solve them eventually. But solving took a lot of time too, So i decided to make post regarding this so that if someone with same problems can solve quickly without wasting your time. I hope this helps you.



Xamarin issue : 1

This is a issue which keeps showing Updating resources forever

Reason :
This is mostly occurs in android when you are dealing with ".xml" and ".axml" files in android resources, android layouts, strings folder, values folder, ...

Solution:

If you have added an .xml file recently and this error appears:
Then you have placed the xml file in wrong folder or you have entered a invalid code in .xml file so just remove the file to solve the issue.
1) close the solution or force quit the studio.
2) open the folder location of the file in system
3) delete the file also delete the obj and bin folders in all the project folders.
4) now open the app in IDE
5) clean and build the app.

or If this have started suddenly the follow the below solution:

you just corrupted your cache and now have to do a little work. The first time you compile an Android app, it has to download a bunch of support libs from the internet, and if you cancel the build early, Xamarin will assume the downloads are complete, and then try to use libraries that are not there.

1. First thing is to totally delete the contents of %userprofile%\AppData\local\Xamarin\zips
2. Then do a full clean/rebuild of your app.

The build will take a long time because there's > 1GB of libraries being pulled down to your %userprofile%\AppData\local\Xamarin\zips path.

Xamarin issue : 2

Crashes immediately after installing the application to device with out any error
or can be called as
Crashes immediately after app start up with out any error

Reason :
This is mostly occurs in android and also in iOS while installing app. This is due to the incompatibility of the application version with your device version.

Solution:
This kind of problem have many solutions or some pre-precautions to be taken.

1)  Updating your android sdk

2)  Changing target platform, minimum build versions, and changing build tools(this last one for Android alone).

Xamarin issue : 3

cTask error

Reason :
This occurs in both Android and iOS
If you find the word cTask in you error error log this is due to difference in the versions of  Xamarin.Forms packages in Xamarin.PCL, Xamarin.Droid, Xamarin.iOS folders.
This might also due to different versions of other packages also

Solution:
This can be solved by updating all the packages or by uninstalling each package and installing them again with required and same version in all the folders.
